Homedo

Homedo is like a playground. WELCOME! Everyone who loves nature and wants to help left-behind people. Homedo's goal is help oneself become a "tree of life." All of Homedo's movements focuses on making you and your body in peace with nature. This oneness becomes "life force," it is also known as chi, ki, prana, orgone... Homedo calls this "love."

What is Homedo?
Martial arts began with rural villages learning how to protect themselves and family. In this rural tradition, families had to guard their homes against pillagers in the village after the year's harvest. Each member of the family learned to defend themselves and each other. To learn these skills, family members practiced martial arts together. These practice sessions, in turn, strengthened family ties. The practice of Homedo is not only a martial art but also a healing art.

In our busy high tech society, families find it very difficult to find any time together. The minds of children are distracted by electronics. While watching TV and consuming food, they become overweight. Children also do not spend much time with their parents; parents usually give them a toy or game to enjoy instead of spending quality time. Homedo aims to help parents and children establish quality time.

"DO" we learn how to care for this "Home"- to love it, train it, and enjoy it. To protect it from internal threats as well as external threats.

Homedo can help us find answers to this question, "Who am I?" In order to answer this question, we must learn to feel the body and become completely aware of it. Like a traveler in a foreign land, we must understand their language. Through Homedo, we learn the body's language. The mother language of our body is feeling- some call it chi.

In Homedo, we learn to sense chi in many ways. We feel chi through touch, movement, breathing, working with partners, and listening to our teacher.

Homedo for Families: Homedo offers a traditional way of sharing family time together. It can unite the family with fun and mutual learning. Here is an activity that a grandfather can practice with a five-year old. Parents become teachers for their children, adding a new look to family life. Practicing Homedo improves one's physical fitness, flexibility, and agility.

Homedo for Children: Most believe that young children are not able to learn yet. Homedo encourages "the younger the age, the better" to learn movements naturally. It is parallel to when a infant begins to learn his/her native language beginning with the ears. All of Homedo's movements are purely defense, not aggression, especially from kidnappers. Children are taught how to surprise and scare an attacker out of his wits.
